Default A Moment of Silence Please

....for The Intimidator. 12 years ago today. RIP Dale....you are sorely missed, and the sport hasn't been the same without you.

I dont follow NASCAR but, the day after I had to learn about him because it was such of a big deal. I was going thru a leadership academy and this Gunny friend of mine got into a fist fight because other gunny called him "gay". The Gunny who called E "gay" got his ass handed to him twice, had two black eyes and a broken nose. The next day he looked like a raccoon.

Ive learn never to speak bad about NASCAR, learned the he was the best of the best, he has a lot of fans. Thru the years I see his cars on auctions, memorabilia and his number on many many front plates.

Amen to that Friz. Probably one of the most shocking days in Nascar history. Now, if only his son could muster up something to make his old man proud

Jr. may not be the driver his dad was, but he's an overall great human being and ambassador for the sport.

BTW....my post was inaccurate....was 11 years ago.

Calling a Marine gay better mean one of two things....he's your best friend, or you've got a large caliber firearm pointed at his head. Otherwise, it's going to get settled on the spot.

Say what you want about Wild Thing, but he sure put on a driving show tonight The second highlight was JG taking out Kurt, too bad he took out Jimmie with him

I say he's the best driver out there; if he'd just grow up some and learn how to duck a punch......

Agreed. On a personal level, I'd like to remove his incisors when he's in mid sentence. Professionally, he's top notch. When it comes to car control, he's on par with the best that have ever graced the sport, and last night was a prime example of that talent.

But UNTIL he learns when to dial it back, he will never win a championship. Petty, Johnson, Gordon, Earnhardt, Stewart, etc all have one common thread: They know when to go slower in order to go faster. You can't run the car at 110% all the time. You will destroy your equipment, and rack up a ton of DNF's....not to mention piss off your competitors and alienate your fan base.....something Rowdy has done a marvelous job at.

If....and it's a BIG if....he learns some patience and big picture thinking, he will win multiple championships. If not, he will remain without a title his entire career. His older brother has had over a decade to develop some maturity....and just when you think he's done that....he pulls a stunt like he did with Dr. Jerry Punch. And damn near in lockstep with that, Kyle gets benched for the Hornaday incident. All the talent in the world does you no good if you're a douchebag.

He has some skills but lacks the maturity to pull it all together. The guy is a wreck on and off the track, and has never been know for his good judgement. Remember the 128 mph speeding ticket?

He has no respect from his competitors and they will make it much more difficult for him to ever be successful. I guarantee that if Harvick, Edwards, Burton or Gordon ever have a chance to take him out of contention for a title, they won't miss the opportunity.

The kid is still an kid and drives like one. Yea, he can recover from a spin, but do you ever wonder why he spins so much and has to recover? Always in the wrong place or near some one he pissed off in the last few races.
