Default Valve Cover Breather Solution Needed

I need to come up with a different solution for my valve cover breather. I'm running the GMPP "Chevrolet" valve covers, which have a plain 1.22" dia hole on the pax. side cover. I'm currently using a K&N breather filter that I've modified the base of mounted directly in the hole. It's just a standard K&N part that has no baffles etc. and the problem seems to be that since the breather is mounted at an angle, the oil mist trapped by the filter element is dripping out of the low side of the breather. Here's a pic of the arrangement, you can see where the oil has been.

What I'm looking for is either an attractive looking push-in style cap with built baffles and breather, or an elegant solution to go from a plain 1.22" hole to AN-6 hose and then to a remote breather can. I have 1.00" and .75" grommets for the valve cover hole.

I was thinking maybe a 1/2" NPT to AN-6 elbow, screwed into the .75" grommet. The O.D. of 1/2" NPT is .840", so it'd be a tight fit for sure. Anyone have a line on a better soltion? Maybe a 1.00" or .75" hose barb to AN-6 adapter elbow? Any other suggestions are appreciated!

What does the cover on the driver's side have for openings. One side should be "straight through" for oil filling and the other cover should have an oil restricting baffle under the cover and mount the vent over that one. Someone else chime in here too !

Joe we had this issue on the Panoz running VC breathers on each side.... we ended up getting new valve covers and running AN fittings/lines to a vented catch can.

Original setup

Re-done... not as trick/pretty as the composite covers, but they work, were cheap, and don't crack/leak!

I'm running the solid cover on the other side. These GMPP covers have no baffles under them at all, although there are some bosses that could be tapped and used to mount something homemade. I think what I'm going to do is use an old skool AC Delco FB-59 push in plastic breather in the short term, at least until after the event in Indy next week. Afterwards I'll find a place to mount a remote breather can and either weld an AN-6 weld fitting directly to the VC, or use a NPT threaded 90° adapter in a grommet. I may even consider buying another blank cover and using that for an even cleaner appearance.

Here are the same VC's with a bit of modification...

AN bungs added. A line from each VC T's into the 4 inch downtube. Also replaced the push in filler with a bung and screw in cap.

AN to remote can would be sweet. It's not like you'd have to put the can anywhere visible.

You engine compartment is tasty as awlays I love that cap. I wish I could find a push in version of it.

Finding the spot I want to put the can, even hidden, is proving difficult. Most of the breather cans I'm seeing are 9"-13" tall and 4" in dia making them unsuitable for use in the space infront of the rad. The areas behind the coves have extra crap already mounted as well. Maybe the solution is to buy another Elite Engineering catch can to match my current one, and convert it into a breather can. Bore a 1.22" hole in the top and mount my existing K&N filter to it. I'd need to come up with a new 2 place bracket for it, but that shouldnt be too hard. Hmm... Snug it up right next to the can on the right.

I wonder if I could get EE to sell me the can portion only for less bux. I hate to spend $169 only to toss the lines, bracket, fittings etc.

Steve,

I thought you already had these VC's?????

They are the GMPP valve covers. I got them from SDPC. I think they were a little over $200.
