Sharing My Good News...
Start by saying thanks to all the good folks here who have offered supprt and encouragement during my cancer nightmare!
I did Radiology and chemo at the same time. It was brutal. The radiation course is over, with some chemo left in it's run. Today I met with the Radiologist about my last scans and next steps. I was hoping it would be good news, and figured it was a good sign the doctors are no longer looking at me like, "You poor bastard..." and actually smile at me. They did not have an initial positive outlook for me at all. Today's visit confirms I'm not just doing good, I'm doing great. To try and give some understanding, there is a test that shows a total amount of cancer found in your body, and it uses a number scale. Normal is 1 to 2. I was at 12.5 when we started treatments. The last results show I am down to THREE (!!!!!). The doctor had all sorts of qualifying details he gave me rounding out support to this one test's numbers. I have a huge issue with having lost 110 pounds while I was unable to eat, and losing 95% of my fitness level. But I can now actually stand and walk with a cane on my own. I try and do a little more distance each day. Friday I actually went to a concert by a group called "Mr Big", who's members are highly noted players all. I made it in, found my seat and switched between sitting and standing for the show. Hurt like hell the next day, but I did it! Now, to complicate matters, my Wife got laid off Friday (there goes the health insurance..). So I decided to see if I could qualify for this ACA thing, and I can. Once she is working, I have to jump back to her policy, but I am covered for now. So we're in Orlando area...if anyone knows a place looking for an Embryologist , let me know....;>! Thanks again to everybody.....
