after that, i need to wrap up my current woodworking project (little sanding, and apply finish), and then perhaps some other errands.

just got back from the shop, had to put a heater core in the ex wife jeep grand Cherokee .. yes I am one of the good guys, ex and my 3 sons need heat and not have to breath in antifreeze stink.

i love a bargain, and i haven't had very many this year, so this made my day!!

so we go out shopping for a Christmas tree, first stop 5 mi from house - strike one, only short ones and brown ones.

ok, 20 miles to town. check Lowes - nope, no cut trees, strike 2. maybe HD? nope, all losing too many needles and too short, strike 3. local corner lot? nah, too scraggly, strike 4. local garden shop? they want $150 for a nice tree, nope, too much, strike 5. ok, one last place to check on the way home, another nursery. we pull up, hmmmm....pretty quiet parking lot, there is one tree on display on the sidewalk (aww, how nice), we go in. clerk asks if we are looking for a tree. sure are. well, they have exactly one left...yup, the one on the sidewalk.

we go check it out a little more closely....nice tree, about 8 feet, good shape, has all it's needles, none fall off on touching or pulling....ok, how much? $15.

no way.....really? yup.

sold.

we grab it, take it home, and then see the sales tag. they were originally asking $100.

i love a bargain!!
