My points are always valid. Yaddie has been consistently wrong throughout this thread. He has gotten the years available wrong. He has gotten which bed sizes were offered wrong. I'm not sure, after reading his posts, if he has ever used a pickup truck for its intended purpose or if he is able to recognize a pickup truck when he sees one.

That's because Yaddie's Porsche isn't a truck, it's a sports car.

I was just thinking of this exact same thing this morning. About what the 'S' means in 'Sport Utility Vehicle'.

Most of us see it as meaning room for socker/hockey gear, skis, camping equipment, and the ability to get it to recreation areas.

Some, including our protagonist, seem to think it means 'sports car'.

Perhaps we need to re-visit this in a new thread to get the ball rolling again.

Wife unit has a Yukon XL. Nothing "sport" about it. It's basically a short bed quad cab pickup with an integrated cap on the back. Runs and drives well - particularly since I eliminated that crap about shutting off the cylinders. Tires wear flat. Every time I think of rotating them, I look at them and ask myself, "Why?". 2014 - last year of the GMT900.

I haven't bought (or needed) any feed since the early '90s, but back then when men were men, and women were instantly recognized as such, feed came in 100# bags.

Fifty pounders? WTF?

Sorry Tiki-Guy, I couldn't resist.

We loaded our '65 Econoline pickup (a van with a pickup bed) to the bed rail height with old brake drums and rotors. Mainly truck drums from 5 ton delivery trucks. My boss told me to put 65 psi in the 13 inch bias ply tires and the thing was on the ground. Driving it to the scrappers, the front wheels would bounce off the ground. Must have been 3 tons in that bed. It was a 230 6 with 3 on the tree, and during normal delivery times with an empty bed, it was our preferred burn-out-around-corners rig.
A yard of aggregate, depending on size and wetness, runs roughly 3-4,000 pounds.

A "yard" of steel (a term nobody used or needed in toolmaking) would weigh about . . . holy shit, I used to do this in roughly 1/3 pound per cubic inch for work. Gotta multiply that out into a yard.

12 x 12 x 12" = a cubic foot or 1728 cubic inches, times .3 for steel equals about 518 pounds.

27 cubic feet in a yard, so a cubic yard of steel is roughly 14,000 pounds if my math is right.

This is why you see road tractors hauling a flat bed with a relatively small load of steel on it. It's maxed out weight-wise.

Fifty pound bags is how they come. But when I am unloading and stacking them I carry two at a time.

I don't own a condo- never would. I live in a house that I designed and built myself. And I've done all my own car maintenance, repair and classic car builds since I was 15. Nice try though.

Well, you sure don't know anything about pickup trucks. As evidenced by this thread.

Didn't you say earlier that you only have a half-acre lot??? That's a bit surprising.

That's less than 150 feet square. No wonder he doesn't know what a pickup truck is.

My interpretation (could be mistaken) is that Tiki was NOT referring to you, good Sir. He was making a generalization on all the posers he sees.
I see many of the same out here. Only they live in crappy apartments.

It's not all about Yadkin all the time.....at least not yet until we find out if Doug will make it back or not.

Why is that surprising? One-half acre minimum is the municipal ordinance here.

Check your math bro. An acre is 43,560 square feet. So you are only off by 14,520%.

Once again, you best stick to hauling hay.

150 feet square is not 150 square feet.

If an acre is 43,560 sq. ft. it stands to reason that a half an acre is 21,780 sq. ft.

If the property were square, it would have sides measuring 147 feet six inches (roughly).

Hence, my comment that it is less than 150 feet square.

Can't even mess around with a pitching wedge with property that small.

Believe me, I know what an acre is.
