I've had a discussion going all day with a guy who has taken the basic position that all criticism, but in particular the birther concerns, are driven exclusively and wholly by racism. To impress upon that "fact" he pointed out that prior to Obama he had never heard of any other Presidential candidate, or President, that had been subjected to the same criticism.

I'm still awaiting his response to me pointing out that at least 9 candidates have been subjected to this same thing, the most recent not even needing to go back in history that far, what with McCain and the questions over his birth in Panama...

Sometimes the pure ignorance in this country just makes me want to cry.

Just stop it ... you and lot people have just had Cow-pie thrown in their face by the President Obama. The President of the United States, and a lot of other adults has had a really good laugh at a lot of idiots expense for over two years and now they have to spin it anyway that can to get the taste out of their mouth. You and I know, President Obama was born in American, but "code" for the cowards who don't have the stones to say what is really on the tip of their lips, he's not one of us, you know "more code".

Rather than trying to bring people together, we have a President that could have eliminated all of this drama, anger, and separation in no time at all. Instead, he has continuously held out and done whatever he could to draw more people in.
