Default One tree

Created this much mess...

15 trash cans and 18 contractor bags of trash. This is one of those same trees I've been battling with on the forum for the past 15 years. I did the one on the right (off picture) 2 weekends ago, this one last weekend, and will do the one on the left this coming weekend.

That's a lot of trash from one tree.

On a bright note, I've mastered not getting stabbed by these feisty bastards.

Question for @datawiz.... Why do you own that many trash cans?

Because I have a shit ton of landscaping and the trash guys won't take it away unless it's bundled or organized. After the tree on the left, I have to trim those tall ones in the middle, 2 more the same size in the back left of the house, another one on the right side of the house, and a bunch of bushes, and smaller palms. I have at least 2-3 more weekends of work left just on trimming.

Ain't home ownership great?

I did that once when I lived in Va. Caught all the dead leaves on the forest floor on fire. I got it put out eventually though since I had 200' of water hose with me.

This burb was built in '72 here near Jax. Floriduh.....when I bought this house in '97 the joint had a LOT of large oak trees on a silly 1/4 acre lot....

one got hit by lightening it was taken out along with the first of many failures from the ATT lines buried down the back property lines and underground into the back of all the houses....well the trees are nothing but lightening rods.....and they all rotted out and leaning over badly all over this burb, every storm see about 5-6 houses hit by limbs/trees/etc......

SO the two 3' diameter Oaks in front removed, one 18" diameter Cedar gone, a palm I planted grew too tall next to power lines.....12" diameter gone.....
two large oaks in neighbors back yard next to property line....gone.....then another 3' diameter oak rotten limbs cut off top, then started draining black sap from a hole in side about 5' off the ground.....removed last year....4' stub sticking outta ground.....need take the chainsaw to it.....I get to it when/if I feel better.....

I drive through the burb and look at all the dead and rotten large trees with nothing but major limbs just waiting to fall over from termite damage....and then one large 3' oak tree on neighbor's front property line, waiting to fall from termites and root rot I can spot from under the fence.....will land on about 2-3 cars, but the bitch wife next door won't spend the two grand to get it removed, rather loose the power lines and cars first, I suppose.....

same neighbor had a YEUGGGE oak removed from his front yard, damn thing was two major trunks joined at base about 5' diameter.....each main trunk about 3'+ diameter, one leaning over house.....removed maybe 3 years ago....one guy in back and uphill a bit has about a dozen BAD trees in his back yard, waiting to take out neighbors homes/sheds/fences when they fall.....including one near his corner next to my yard, could take out my house.....lovely....he won't do a thing about it, he's a jerk.....

Chuck on the other side of my house has taken out about 5 large trees in the 23 years I been here..... and two large palms across the street next to power lines need gone too.....

Using fire to clear underbrush is for people who don't own rakes.

This was the middle of my circle driveway so it was surrounded by driveway/firebreak.
