Another blend I like is mixing the Makers Cask Strength with Larceny. I enjoy messing with these blends.

I've had both but never thought of mixing them...

Larceny is good on its own, as is anything from Maker's Mark. I don't understand blending them.

I prefer Mello Yellow with my Cutty Sark. It's the only thing that cuts that nasty Scotch taste.

WTF?
It's weird sounding, I know, but surprisingly good.

What's to understand? Try it or don't, I had a friend recommend it and I tried it once. It was quite good. Not something I do all the time but it was interesting.

Speaking of mixing different scotch brands, has anyone ever had Monkey Shoulder?

U.M.

I've had it. It's decent, but not something I'd buy for home. It generally gets 7 out of 10 in reviews. It gets lots of recommendations as a mixer, which I don't do with Scotch. YMMV.

I like it, but not a go to with other choices around.

You may want to also try Whistlepig. SIL gifted me a bottle. I prefer Kentucky bourbons myself, but I don't mind breaking out the Pig once in a while.

It’s a pretty decent blended scotch. Had a bottle “blow up” in the back of my C5. Took a while to get the smell out.

It's a great Scotch for beginners. I gave some to my gurl when she was first trying whisky and she loved it.
