and rather seldom listened to rock, as it got more krazy, even less...... so watt yawl say???? |

A friend gave me two tickets to see Brubeck at a small university venue a few years ago. It was amazing to see him helped out to sit at the piano and then instantly lose about 40 years as he played, nailing song after song. Greatness. So glad I got to see him. Kind of Blue is probably my favorite jazz album but don't care much for most of his other work... weird. |

“Jazz” is a pretty general term.
I prefer what I call “low brow Jazz” basically post war dance music or “jump blues” like Louie Jordan Or Louie Prima, T-Bone Walker, more recent Roomful of Blues. Punchy combos with horn sections. Like Wynonie Harris “Don’t Roll Your Bloodshot Eyes at Me” Here we are nailing it off with the big band. |
