Nice!
They used to do this at my work before everyone went home to work. Car wash only, though. Not detailing (other than vacuuming). |

Meanwhile mine hasn't been washed in a few years. Probably do it this Spring. I'm just not good with bending over or crawling around on hands and knees anymore and no part of that vehicle rises above my belt buckle. It cleans up nice though and the inside is already spotless

She’s looking good Val. My neighbor has a mobile detailer do a few of his cars/trucks everyweek, I’ll be getting in on that action as soon as I have working outside faucets again.

I have this little decal in the lower right corner of the windshield. It says "Park Place Preferred". About once a week, I pull into the service drive and my guy Ezra takes the car away. I sit in the customer lounge enjoying a coffee, a bagel, maybe some trail mix or fresh fruit, read a magazine, look at the new AMG's.
In about 25 mins, they text me and my car is spotless and ready to drive off. |

Great idea!
I know a couple local mobile detail guys that would love that gig. I think they average $75 and up to do a car here. Decent money compared to local jobs in mfg. |

Yes, I already do very well and am very disciplined in my spending. I submitted my ask with the recruiter, and it's a big bump, but the written contract even came back with $3k more base than I asked for! This is a minimum 45% raise from where I'm at, and that's after getting a 51% raise to leave IBM for my current company. Let's not even talk about the signing bonus. Let's just say that the new engine for the 2008 Z will be on the way post haste, and I'll have a **** ton of money left from that bonus. I've been doing what I do for 35 years. I finally found my stride. This place truly values me, and the upside potential moving forward is massive. Last edited by Datawiz; 04-11-2021 at 2:06pm. Reason: I can't math. The raise is not 35%, it's 45% |
