I finally fell asleep from exhaustion. Dry for now, but street still holding water, and it is a light drizzle. Neighborhoods north of here were taking on feet of water last I heard.

Finally lost power some time this morning.

Local police departments are asking for volunteers with flat bottom boats to assist with rescues. Coast guard helos are in the air and beginning air evacuations.

Its raining heavily here, but still have power and are comfortable.

When Allison came through they had 100's of millions of dollars in research lost in the flood water, since then they added flood gates to protect the hospitals in the med center. Apparently with ben Taub the water was entering through the drainage/sewers.

Just watched a Blackhawk operating south of here, and I can hear an airboat, too. No doubt they are plucking people from their houses. I can watch the water level in the street ever so slowly go down, but it seems every time we start making progress, more rain.
