I have the headers on now.
I have put on a lot of headers in my time and never had any that bolted up and fit perfect until today.
I took the plugs, wires, and starter off. I took the S-belt off and the 4 long screws that hold the A/C compressor in place and moved it. The drivers side slid in from the top easily. The passengers went in from the bottom just as easy.

I got the Ypipe mocked up today. I used the stock y with the flares that came with the Elite Headers. I simply mocked them up and cut the ends off. I will have them welded by a shop.

I used a Skill saw with a cut off blade. It worked very well.

I have the Magnaflow on now guys, I love it. It's quieter while cruising but has a great performance sound when I'm in it.

No torque loss .. did a dyno run recently, I put down 268 HP 312FP to the wheels that's almost 400 foot pounds at the crank and the run was aborted because of a downshift ..
They are long tubes and IMO the best bang for buck mod for a L98.

Default My L98 dual exhaust... Brace yourself..

Ok, So my new Fast Burn head ports were way to big for my Headman headers. I sold those. My idea was to get some TPIS long tubes and 3" magnaflow cat back for a LT1 and use some bullet cats with a Xpipe. I would have to wait about 6 months to buy it sooo.
I was browsing and found some take out LT1 exhaust and for less that $170 I now have this exhaust including hangers. I measured the ports on the manifolds and they match almost perfectly.

I cleaned them up with 100 grip wet and sanded the Mufflers with 400 to paint.

On an LT1 oil filter adapter is offset make room for the monster cats.

I sourced some replacements with bullet cats on the popular auction site.
$314.00 shipped.

I put the hangers on this afternoon. The front hanger bolts in the same place the L98 transmission hanger goes. The rear bolts to the botom 4 bolts on the backside of the rear end. I had to enlarge the holes in the rear hangers.

The hanger on the left has the holes enlarged. The one on the right is the stock size.

Ok I got the rest on. Here are some pictures.

I had to bend the heat shield a little it was hitting the steering.

It hits the stock oil filter so i will need to get a shorter filter. The PF454 is the same as the stock filter but 2" shorter.

The passages side fits nicely. I now realize i am missing the hanger that bolts to the trans there.

I will get some better pictures when I can get it running and on the ramps. I think it fits great.

Jose, FAIL, No hardcore take-off video.

You know we want to see something leaving two long black marks on the asphalt.

I remember the days when Ch@0s did it right.

Sounds good, let's see it when it is tuned. I put a total of 6 different combinations on mine, they were either too quiet or too loud. I finally settled on Magnaflows too because they were the only muffler that didn't have unbearable drone. I built my own system, coming off the headers into two hi flow cats, then an x-pipe then back into the tailpipes with universal Magnaflows on the rear in brushed stainless. A true dual system with only the x-pipe tying them together.
