Don't forget the idiot who knows torque:

Quote:
You can buy any cheap-ass torque wrench like one from Harbor Freight and calibrate it yourself if you are anal enough to need exact values. Put a socket on the wrench and fix the socket into a vise with the handle of the wrench sticking straight up (so the weight of the wrench handle is not a factor). Attach a fish weighing scale or other measuring device to the handle exactly 12 inches from the center of the socket and pull to the desired torque amount -- adjust the wrench until it releases at just that point. If you want 20 ft/lb pull with that amount.

'Cause that's what 20 ft/lb means: a force of 20 lbs exerted on a lever one foot long. If the lever is 6 inches long a force of 40 lbs will get you 20 ft/lb; if two feet long 10 lbs of force will suffice.
I did not reply because what I've seen there the last year between the regulars that know what they are talking about, and the others that are want-a-be automotive experts, I did not want to waste time to explain to him the value of having it calibrated, and how to perform the calibration correctly. Pete was lucky enough to give me his wrench, as we just got a $60k torque tester from AKO here at work, so I tested it on that machine and gave Pete the results.

Yes but, the string method is more accurate, faster and cheaper.

I do know few people may think that John was BS-ing about the complexity of the C5 floor mats installation.

Here is Mid America offering a new C5 floor mat with spec plates. Installation is extra.

Yes Bryan, you did a self-attack and that is also against CF rules.

It will be locked, you will receive a warning, banned for 3-15 days and 3 points taken out.

Damn, how do I know those things

Too bad that douchebag Joe is banned over there. He could drop some real knowledge about how he improved performance with his piece of sh*t stick on covers.

What do you use for tire dressing? - Corvette Forum

Adams sells you some crap, armor all or F21 with a mark up. When I did car shows I used F21 and the cheap armor all for the tires, fenders and engine. People who used Adams and Griots products were asking me what was I using. They were convinced I used something else and poured it in a F21 bottle to deceive the competition.

I've had good luck with Zaino, especially on motorcycles but was unimpressed the 1 time I used Adams polishes.

Ok this is the ice braker

He is trolling. For a 10 year member this is a stupid thread to create. I joined the CF in 2001 and needless to say there are hundreds of threads on SMF and DMF.

Can't you just picture him, old, wore out, no friends, humiliated everywhere that he's posted, no credibility, ignorant, no common sense and stupid red caliper covers on top of everything else. Most likely sitting alone in his trailer that probably doubles as his home watching a thread like this wishing he could fit in.

I've said it before, what a maroon..................

He cant stay away from this forum and actually enjoys being bashed by others. A day will never go by without him lurking in here at least 20 times by 6 PM
