This certainly seems to be great news on the surface.
Intel was already planning this, but "the timing is right now" according to their CEO.
It's nice to see a plant of this magnitude staying here in DAB's back yard instead of going to China or India.
IMO, a few factors are at work here.
1) The 2nd world countries have nearly reached a point of wage parity where it is not as profitable to produce overseas.
2) Trump policies will tip the scale to make up for the remainder of the wage inequity, (tax relief, deregulation, import taxes, etc.).
3) 2nd world countries can now better afford products at the prices they are produced here due to their now modern producer economics.

Hopefully the snowball gets bigger.

and last i heard, the Intel plant in Albuquerque was down sizing.

From the OP link Obama used the same plant to tout HIS economic plan.

The Plant will produce chips that could be built elsewhere but they are getting tax breaks and other freebies to help offset the costs.

If those tax breaks don't go through AND Obamacare stays around don't expect nearly as many support jobs as projected.
