I just don't get why the domestic manufacturers seems to be killing off all their cars. I get that SUV's and trucks generate good profit, but given the current economic conditions that I won't delve into, you'd think there would be a market for comparatively more affordable vehicles that get better mileage.

The foreign manufacturers seems to make money selling actual cars; Americans obviously still want to buy them, and now they're almost forced to buy foreign.

I wish I looked at a Buick SUV before I bought the Honda. I may be able to hear my music over of road noise without cracking it up. I was looking for trouble free over luxury.

I remember being driven around in Buicks in my youth and thinking: damn! this is a quiet ride. I guess they aren’t cool enough because they relate to old farts. I didn’t fart because everyone in the Buick would have heard it. OK, truthfully, I didn’t want to stink them out.

The cool thing back in that day of late 60's and early 70's is you could order a Malibu and have whatever engine you want in it.

I know a bud who ordered a 340 Duster but ordered a 383 with it.

An alternative method of transportation vs ICE vehicles is perfectly fine to me. Honestly the combustion engine is archaic really, we been using them for over 100 years for automobiles and truck.

Surely we can come up with more options.

And besides, today's younger don't drive like us and/or go to a job daily. A huge percentage have no need for a personal vehicle.

One more thing, on the continuance of petroleum based....do you really think all these oil barons will just stop? Not in our lifetime. WAY too much money to just turn off the liquid gold.....
