I went to McDonalds one morning a couple years ago and found a money envelope with $700 in it. I was not about to turn it over to anyone in that place. There was a receipt inside from a bank but not enough info on it for them to trace it.
So after a couple weeks of making an effort, I said fk it and put it towards my dogs medical bills. |

I have never once been to or held a garage sale. I don’t want miserable cheap assholes rooting around my place so I can sell a ton of stuff and argue over pennies to net $23. I throw my crap in the trash. Everything goes to the curb. I’ve put lawn tractors, tv’s, a bunch to the curb working or not. Always gets picked up, either scrap folks, or from lks looking to sell, or garbage man.

Several years back I paid $4 for 2 ziplok bags full of 20 gauge shotgun shells. I sold the paper stuff off for $20 and I will likely use the last of the plastic hulls next pheasant season. Last year I found a vintage guitar amplifier by the side of the road. Posted on eBay just for kicks, it brought nearly $400.

Years ago found a Totemkopf SS ring for five bucks. It was marked as a " Goth Skull Ring". Seller made a series of rude remarks about me not being a Goth because of my long hair. I finally said " The ring isn't either..." And walked off. Wonder if they ever figured it out.

A long, long time ago, in a parking lot far away...
Back when I was eighteen (1979) I worked maintenance in a Sheraton Inn. Two guys from housekeeping (both nineteen) and I had walked through the woods to the big pond there. We had a "safety meeting" and then walked back over to the parking lot. Jamie was running the lot vacuum while Bob and myself started chasing after a little pup that was wandering around. He headed into the woods with Bob and I close behind. Suddenly Bob stopped, threw his arms out wide and yelled, "HOLY SHIT!" We were close to a creek so I just knew he'd found a body. Nope. I stepped around him and we had came upon some kind of makeshift campsite. There was a sleeping bag, a few shoes, some clothes scattered around, and...a suitcase turned upside down, standing up in a "V" shape, with bills scattered all around! I mean a lot of bills. Almost all still in bank wrappers. A little dirty and moldy, but bundles of fifties and hundreds. We gathered it up and took it inside. We counted it, and it totaled a little over eight grand. Being dirty, stained and moldy we weren't sure it was real. A quick discussion led us to call Bob's father. His best friend was an attorney. He recommended turning it in since we didn't know if it was real. We called the manager down. After she got over the surprise she called the police. They came, counted and verified the amount, and made a report. We were told after ninety days if unclaimed it would be returned to us. The catch was for someone to claim it they would have to identify everything left there, and explain where it came from and why it was left there. Ninety days came and went. We got it back. $5628 plus interest, split three ways. We got to be on the local news and newspapers plus the Sheraton WorldWide monthly newsletter. Got me out of two tickets in the next few months because local police remembered me as being one of the guys that turned in all that money. I bought tires, wheels, a stereo and amp plus speakers, headers and mufflers, and a shift kit for my car. Oh, and a 1/4 lb of "supplies". Anyone catch the discrepancy? We initially found a little over 8k. We kept $500 each before turning it in. just in case, you know, we didn't get it back. I was really nervous busting that first fifty. |

When I pulled the seats out of the Corvette I have now to clean I found a skull shaped one ounce of troy silver and eighteen silver dimes.
Found pot a couple of times in cars. Various tools. |
