Default Anyone run Nitto NT555s? Thoughts on them?

Reading the reviews online are all over the map.... some people are in love with them, others think they're junk. The two main cons that seemed present throughout the reviews were poor wet traction/hydroplaning and soft sidewall prone to damage.

I'm considering a set for the red vert because I have new front wheels coming and the tires I have on there currently (BFG KDWs) aren't made anymore. The KDW2 gets so-so reviews and the Nitto beats it on price to the tune of $50/tire.

Thanks,

Brian

I run a set on the rear, if it rains I have to not get on it too much or they do spin. You seen my rims, I hit a curb and the tires stayed in tack and didn;t burst off the rim.

Dry traction, imo I love them specially 70+ days they stick. But I run Kumhos on the front and I don't have a problem with them.

I tried that [mixing Nittos with GY Supercars] & the traction was great, but the front end felt squirelly. I never had any problems controlling the car, but did not like that feeling at high speeds.

A couple other options the FALKEN Azenis RT615 and the newer Kumho EX. I'm between the two of them when I need tires.

Love them on my vette, the ride better than my previous GSD-3s, they are quieter too. Also haven't had any traction issues, dry or wet. It also takes alot for them to squeal going through a corner. I tried.

I can't stand the INVO tread and don't care for the sidewall ribs/thingies on the Kumhos as I've had 3 sets on my yellow car.

I may just hold off and keep the 18" wheels I got for the front in my shed until I run through these current tires. I had a line on the front tires I needed but that fell through.... turns out you can't find original KDWs in teh sizes I need.

I have them on my car now but I have a set of NT05R's sitting here waiting to be installed. What size rims to you have in the rear? My 555 have enough tread on them to try out if you want them and feel like swapping them out for a bit. The tires are 305/35/18. Let me know if you want them.

I've got a set of 265/35ZR18's on the front and love em. I honestly don't have a legitimate complaint. I've got about 6000 miles logged on this set.

Roger I'm just running stock 18x9.5 thinspokes.... so your tires are too big. Thanks for the input... I'm most likely going to go w/ KDW2s.
