Well, now that you have a bar stool, y'all are gonna have to take up drinking.

So when you get up in the morning, that's the best you're going to feel all day?

Nice stool. Looks very sturdy.

26” tall, 15” diameter seat. Legs are 1-1/2” square with chamfered corners. 3/4”x3/4” stretchers. 1” round tenons thru the seat with wedges. It’s not coming apart.

And you know, barstools are one of those things that it seems unless you spend a lot of money on them, they are junk and they fall apart. I've had my fair share of those.

Chairs and stools are one of the hardest things to make well. A lot of stress is put on them by people. Dead weight, twisting, racking, leaning. If you don’t have good joinery, they will fail.

This one has good joinery. All mortise and tenon. No nails, no screws. Just well glued joints.

The wood alone for this cost about $50.

That top is solid wood, no?? how thick?? just wondering about much if chance on it splitting with the grain if it is.....and then adding two metal flats against the grain screwed into the top, up next to the legs and a bit longer....just extra support.....??

Top is 1-1/2” thick. Two layers glued cross grain. Not going to crack.

unclamped, sanded, dust removed via tack cloth (mineral spirits on a paper towel), branded on the bottom of the seat, and ready for finishing.
