Everything blends in my garbage disposal. I got tired of the puny little thing always binding up. What’s the answer? Big block. I hooked a donor 454 I had just acquired. It took a little work around but I got everything sorted soon enough. Now, I flick the switch and giggle like a kid as I throw leftovers, hell, even the plate and silverware into the disposal. Only thing is I got new problems. I need to get stronger disposal blades and I made the opening big to fit plenty so the suction created has gotten a few unintended bowls, unprepared food, and even one of the house cats.

About the only thing we put down ours is chunks of citrus fruits from time to time. I learned my lesson years ago when I tried to shove a bunch of leftover taco salad down the one at my old house and later walked into the kitchen to 2" of standing water (super not level floor in that dive) from the washing machine drain backing up, with floating lettuce and hamburger chunks.

13 years of putting pretty much EVERYTHING in my disposal and I have only had the sink back up one time.

Eggs
Watermelon rind
Meat
Fruit
Pizza crust
Fuzzy leftovers
Unfuzzy leftovers
Dog food
Cheese

The only thing it does not approve of is the occasional spoon.

My disposal was 22 years old and working just fine.....until my Mom decided to grind up a spoon. One of the blades actually ripped off the bottom of the disposal, like you'd rip a piece of paper.

Drain oil, transmission fluid, gear oil, differential fluid and I powder coat in the oven.

Only had one when we bought a home here in Florida. We had it removed during the kitchen remodeling at both places.

They always gave us trouble .

It's better to cook the parts on the stove top to remove all the water. It takes several hours, but it really is worth it. When you are left with just dried bones, put them in the oven, and turn it on self-clean. The ash that is left will not have any identifiable DNA in it, so it is safe to discard in the trash, or scatter somewhere remote.

Well, so I've heard.
