cam? Crane-Lunati -Comp or ?????
Getting another engine for my '77 since the current one (nom) makes very bad noises.
I'm getting a 305 that runs good for free. The only known problem is the fuel pump lobe is "compromised", I'm just going low budget, very mild cam and lifters wqith new timing chain/gears. Headers, true duals, 3.08 gears on a 4 speed car. I willbe running the stock intake & carb. Thanks Jeff |

Get the 268H (Comp Cams) or I think better, the Crane (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRN-113941/) and add L98 aluminum heads (#113's) with the 58cc chambers, and medium thickness (sorry, can't remember the crush depth right now) head gaskets.
I'd get the chambers polished too, new valves, guides, seats, etc. Roller rockers suggested. You'll be able to make 300 hp fairly easily, and totally streetable. The 305 is not really THAT bad of an engine, especially if that's all you have. Plus, when you step up into the 350 later, the heads will bolt right on too.
