Trusses finally showed up this Wednesday My builder only has 2 guys working for him and they were both tied up this week, so just he and I put the trusses up ourselves. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, actually was fairly easy to do! I can swing a hammer and pull the trigger on a nail gun, so I was happy to help Roof sheathing starts Monday, and garage trusses go up this coming week. Floors will be poured soon too.

Yeh, that started not long after I left for the Army in 75. Use to be seasonal & simple. I still have many friends & relatives in the area and get back every few years.

Roofing is just about done, just have to do the far side of the garage and then ridge vent. I go and help out wherever my builder can use me. Today he had me load the garage floor up with sand and rake it out level, then run the compactor around to smush it all down. Nothing like raking out piles of sand to really wake your back up! I'm too ****ing old for this shit, but do it anyway

I was lucky that I was only 30 when I built mine!
I can't even rake leaves now!
