Why would any large-scale business person invest in NYC now ?

Putting the crime, taxes, congestion and weather aside; its abundantly apparent now that if you get on the wrong side of a political party, you'll be subject to "zipcode" justice and a rabid local judicial system will find something, ANYTHING to "take you out"...

Not the first time New York has shot themselves in the foot. I can't remember who was governor back then (too long ago), but I recall when New York raised its business taxes and thought that companies would just pay them rather than move. A lot of businesses fled New York for Florida when that happened. Seems New York just doesn't learn its lessons. Businesses are fleeing, commercial real estate is tanking, boarded up store fronts on nearly every corner, crime completely out of control, illegals flooding the city and draining its remaining resources, etc... New York apparently wants to be the San Francisco of the east coast.

nyc is dying!!
Too much crime, taxes too high, poor public services, high cost of living.

FL offers everything nyc no longer has, and no personal income taxes is at top of list.

Both nys and kali will continue to see an accelerated departure of companies, as technology no longer requires companies to have a geographic home that is deemed beneficial.

Many young financial people will trade the NE for FL, you cannot convince them to stay, as competing companies will meet their request.
