My kid is learning to code.

My work suckage does not involve one problem, but dozens of them all at once. It’s hard to keep track of everything and of course everything is important. As soon as you solve one problem, the next one is on its heels. You don’t know where it will come from, what it’s about, who can respond to it, how much time you have, or if it even belongs to you.

I'm starting to be able to see retirement. Hopefully, I'll live that long.

For your kid, it's not a bad job in the right shop. I almost should have listened to Phred, but I think I'm still happier here than with the pedantic nerds at my last job. I'll be a lot happier once people start coming back into the office and I don't have to use Slack to communicate with anyone.

I’d be happy if I never set foot in the office again. I can do everything I do from home. Been saying it for years. I orchestrate. Don’t have to brief big wigs on important shit anymore. I just tell the people who do to make sure their shit is right beforehand and when they need to brief and on what and to whom. Piece of cake.





Oh yeah. Kid has a dual major in education and education. Graduated magma cum whatever and decides he wants to code. In a boot camp. He’ll be ok. One of these days. Good money and a huge field.
