Back in the daze when Ralph Nader appeared on the scene and we all just cracked up at his silliness, never in a mega year to believe anyone in the .gov would be so stupid as to believe a word he said.....let alone create the EPA.....

I miss those days of American muscle. Big blocks. I had a 69 Z/28 and the 302 was rated at 290 hp. I've heard that it was closer to 400.

Actually - I feel we may be in the prime time right now for muscle cars - look at some of the top offerings - The hellcat, the ZL1 Camaro, Shelby mustangs, the new corvette. All way better - much faster, more powerful, and more fun to drive than those muscle cars of old.

You forgot to add in more money. Also every car maker had a musclecar now the choices are fewer.
Yes today's modern muscle is all around better performing but lack the soul of the older cars.

Great Vid....

I had a new '69 Chevelle virtually identical to the one on the opening shot except mine was an L34 350hp instead of the L78 375hp and had a black vinyl top. Sure wish I had that car back.

Love the big block sound. Wish I still had my '74 Vette with the 454 and Hooker headers and pipes.

In high school my first car was a '69 Camaro. Then a '67 Charger followed by a '67 Malibu at the end of my junior. Traded it in on a new Camaro in early '79 in my senior year. Over the years I had three '69 Galaxie XL's all with 429s, a Road Runner, many more Camaros and Firebirds, a few Vettes, a couple of Mustangs and a shitload of others. While it is nice to have something safe with great gas mileage I do miss the old, simple hot rods.
