Default Tomorrow's the day. :(
Have to put our Chocolate Lab down. He's just shy of 15 years old and has developed bone cancer on his right front shoulder. It's growing exponentially every day. We were going to put him down last Saturday, but his ability to walk improved and we gave him a stay of execution.

He can no longer stand or walk, and the tumor is the size of a softball. He doesn't even communicate that he has to defecate, he just lays on the floor and does it. He is in so much pain, it is unfortunately time. He still seems happy and alert, but his body has failed him in a big way.

He will devour the steak. His uncle gave him a T-bone in the lawn tonight and he went to town. He can still think, smell and eat. Pretty much everything else is gone.

Not my first, and never easy. Our rescue is my shadow, and quite frankly my favorite dog of all time. When her time comes, it will be harder on me, but make no mistake, I've already shed a few tears over Bailey.
