I grew up in the Texas panhandle. We used to climb up on the roof and watch them coming in. Normally they would dissipate before doing damage. Trust me, they would just throw the rocks back.

Drive through 2x's annually. Stopped at a rest area in the panhandle and first thing I noticed was a built-in tornado shelter. I then realized these things are for real!
