Trump had previously campaigned at Dordt ahead of the 2016 election, with the event drawing a large crowd of both supporters and opponents to the campus.

A Trump campaign event scheduled to take place at Iowa’s Dordt University, a private evangelical Christian school, on January 5 is reportedly no longer taking place after the school’s administration canceled the event contract.

A source revealed the cancelation to the Iowa Standard. The University hosted an event earlier in December featuring fellow GOP primary candidates Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ryan Binkley.

One individual told the outlet that it was Trump’s campaign that canceled, but another said this was untrue and Dordt administration was the one who canceled.

According to KCAU, Iowa state representative and Dordt faculty member Jeff Taylor confirmed that the decision to cancel the Trump event was made last Friday by university administrators. He had been working as a liaison between the school and campaign.

Taylor said he was not aware of whether the event had been relocated or canceled altogether by the Trump campaign. The event is still listed on the Trump campaign website.

Dordt Chief of Staff and Dean of Chapel Aaron Baart has been a vocal critic of Trump, reportedly posting in June of 2016 a photo of his children pretending to vomit in front of Trump Tower.

"My children can’t vote yet but apparently their political sentiments are strong, judging by their visceral responses to this Chicago landmark," the post read.

Trump had previously campaigned at Dordt ahead of the 2016 election, with the event drawing a large crowd of both supporters and opponents to the campus.
Sounds like the school needs to re-evaluate Baart's fitness to be in leadership there. I'm somewhat familiar with 'chapel.' The purpose of bringing in speakers is to challenge students to think for themselves, meaning, you expose them to speakers with a variety of beliefs and backgrounds.

And I think the evangelicals have finally learned that they need to be involved in politics, too, or you end up with what we have now, a deviant, Godless society and a government led by perverts and pervert enablers.
