"But God wormed his way into my children’s lives anyway. (He works in mysterious ways.) Where? At public school, of course, where my kids have been required to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag every day, a ritual I find nauseating both for its nationalism and its invocation of God."

And this is where the psycho god hating, freedom loving, liberty abusing, better than thou Twat showed her true colors....Wonder what the odds are she voted for Obama, not once..but twice..possibly 3 or 4 times?

Im not "religious", I dont go to church 3X a week, I dont pay tithes, I dont say a prayer before every meal. I do not know for certain there is a God..I cannot prove there is a God..I also cannot say with any certainty at all that there isnt a God. Id like to hope there is a God, an almighty being that has a plan for us.

I feel like, if you read the bible, and interpret the stories within on your own, and believe aht you think they mean, and worship how you best can, that you have a better chance of making the right decisions in life, vs someone who feels like there is no higher power, its all lies, that they control their own destiny and the destiny of those surrounding them....

Im not a fan of organized religion, namely mega churches..revivals, faith healers, I think they have strayed far and away from what was originally intended for holy worship....its not a fashion show, its not a dating opportunity, its not a car show or contain a hierarchy of status within the congregation...Churches should not "make a profit"....and Preachers should not parade around in Mercedes, wearing 2000 dollar suits, and diamonds that would make a Jeweler shit their pants....

anyways....the lady in the OP is just another one of those people that id like ot slam their face in a car door...

I don't go to churches, and don't care much for organized religions..

But I do believe there is a higher power out there, and we call him God, and his son Jesus Christ.

There have way too many things that have happened in my life through the years that were certainly proof enough to me in my mind.

I don't try to push my feelings and thoughts on others.. and I don't want anyone trying to force their thoughts on me.

But for those out there that do not want to believe, that is their choice, but someday they will need him.

So many that say they do not believe, but when the time comes when their life.. or the life of a loved one is in danger.....

The first thought they will have is...... "Please help me God"

Interesting how the pledge was written by a socialist when our nation was over 100 years old, yet it's now the firmly defended by the right wing over two words that weren't even there originally.

Carry on

For someone who says that they're not even sure God exists, there's more hatred in your post than there is in that entire article.

Which comes as no surprise.

Growing up Southern Baptist, that is a typical response. Preach love and understanding on Sunday, Rail against anything that isn't Southern Baptist on Mon-Sat.

To each their own. I believe in a higher power myself, but do not like others forcing their ways or formal organized religion on me. Whatever kind that is

Fascinating *yawn*.

Poor put-upon uber-liberal mommy, can't have every little thing go her way. Aw, that's sad. Boo hoo. Hey sweetie, here's a picture of John Kerry riding a bike.

On a side note...is better to be a troll, or a drama queen? Or, do they both rank equally low on the douchebag scale?

I wonder if this women looks at what ISIS is doing in Iraq as they eradicate centuries-old monasteries and churches, kill or banish Iraqi Christians, and generally purge everything and anything religious they don't like, and sighs longingly. So brave, she marvels.

Perhaps the reason it's defended is because only a tiny minority has an out of proportion problem with it, and that that tiny minority gets out of proportion attention.

Now she knows how I feel whenever I turn on the TV some Ultra Gay character comes on and throws their beliefs in my face. Yet they make up less than 2% of the population.

Or the Liberal twist to almost every movie, TV show and radio broadcast.

She, like many far left tools, have replaced Religion with their leftist Utopian beliefs and can't see they are just as zealous as those far right religious types they mock.

What I read in that article sounded like something Phil would post. I'll pass on wasting my time reading any more of it.
