HA!!! I used to help design and build BDSM gear, set up two nightclubs outfitted with cages, tables, lacing benches, St. Catherines wheels, St. Andrew crosses, one of which would spin on the wall.....suspension cages from the ceiling, even a operational Guillotine---seriously.....it was just a huge noise maker, having about 4 grenade proof stops in it.....but it sure as hell looked real, and fell with a vengeance....

shit, we built stretch racks with Ship's wheels to do the full body stretching, self supporting St. Andrews' crosses.....

and I met several 'Madams' in the trade.....seen many a 'Dungeon'.....

and of course, one of the Madams' son was a pro Wrestler....seriously....

the shit no one would believe, unless you lived it, all I can say, is it's true....

I did that almost 9 months ago, a week later he and I were sitting in the back of the church at his funeral, not really welcome there by his family, not allowed to go the the coffin to say goodbye. Yes, after all that time together there should have been some kind of will or POA, which they did not have, but after 20 years together, what would your reaction be in that situation? Bet you would kinda think it is unfair as well, it is a right that married couples have that he did not because they could not get married. Or I will even through this out since it is brought up in a lot of threads that they deserve respect, he is also a veteran having served in the Navy for 13 years, volunteered to protect and die for his country, but not allowed to say goodbye to the person he loved.

People say "it will never happen to me", but, I had to watch my best friend say his final goodbye to a PICTURE of the person he was devoted to for 20 years because his partner's parents didn't agree with his lifestyle. I am not going to start shooting people from a clock tower, or spray painting fast food restaurants, but I am not going to site idle and silent either.

RIP Max, I have been keeping Spence out of trouble for ya. Miss ya buddy.
You don't have to be gay to be in that kind of situation. Lot's of fathers and mothers don't approve of their sons or daughters choice in bf/gf.

Lots of us are Christians here, do we sound riled up? I don't think we've treated you any different than we've treated anyone else here who has been decent and respectful and with something positive to add (regardless of position).

Not as of yet, however with the exception of posting my opinions and feelings on the subjects at hand, or some light hearted posts in "fun" threads, but I have been rather conservative in other points (as is in my nature, because my sexuality is what I am, it is not who I am).

Not that I would stir the pot by doing so, but honestly what would the reactions be if I posted up pictures from the Pride festival I volunteered at over the weekend. Or if I posted up vacation pics like quite a few people do, and one of them were my patner and I kissing (although that will never happen any time soon since, I have not had a vacation since Oct 2000, and I work too damn much for anyone to actually put up with me...LOL). I would expect funny remarks from some that I know were just giving me a hard time and did not mean anything by it, but I do honestly beleive there would be those who would turn it into somthing quite ugly.

And I do recognize that MOST have been respectful, while at the same time just voicing their opinions, to which they are entitled to, as I am with mine.
