This is simple, I feel as flawed and dangerous Trump may be, Newsom would be a worse choice for the future of America. Trump will be watched closely and I think the reality is he would be highly ineffective as he will be spending his entire term fighting legal problems. Having said that, Newsom poses a much bigger risk to America than Trump, Donald's influence will be done in 4 years while Newsom's influence could last for an entire decade.

Ken, you may be right about the majority of what we saw at the capitol. I feel his biggest risk is the fake elector scheme. So many people have taken deals and turned witnesses for the prosecution and all they really need to do is prove he had knowledge in my opinion.

In any case, it's not really smart to be threatening the current president when they're trying to prove he wanted to prevent the transition of power. Just my opinion I suppose.

Did you see my thread about the VT trooper who arrested a guy for flipping the trooper off? That's Trump's legal drama, in a nutshell. Trump pissed off the government, and the government is rage indicting as a result. It took the guy who flipped off the trooper a year to have an obvious bullshit charge dropped, twice, apparently. Imagine how much longer it takes for multiple bullshit charges in multiple courts.

But the principle is the same. Butthurt government lashing out at the man who hurt govt's feelings.
