Good Party...Another dude had a flask, so we toasted with them and proceeded to use them with pride...Wine, beer, & and soft drinks were served, so my flask was a life saver....

First, you better bring another back up, one of those is not nearly enough. Second beware of what they're made of.....you can get lead poisoning from the real ones when the alcohol reacts with the pewter metal. A lot of medievals died from lead poisoning from metal plates and steins. I prefer the glass lined ones.

I have back-up...
Lead though, hu ? Flask # 3 is made of English pewter in Sheffield England.....hmmmm. Flask # 1 was made y Lennox, and says Tin Can Alley, on the bottom, and flask # 2 was purchasd in Kuwait, at the American Embassy in Kuwait, and was made by Zippo... So the English one could be bad for my health ? ala lead poisoning ? |

You're worried about them not having good rum and yet you're bringing Bacardi?

Bacardi is good rum. My drink of choice. I don't like the darks, or spiced rums....I was just worried that there would be no liquor at all...There wasn't, so a couple of us had flasks, luckily, otherwise, it would have been a long night..

Barcardi? Seriously? It's pretty much flavorless. Rum should taste like sugar cane, not rubbing alcohol. |

Ya, I'll try 'em all, but I drink Bacardi light like a normal person drinks beer...I like the taste, it does not give me a hangover, and it's cheap, by the case. Good is a relative term. I'll get an exotic rum when out at a nice restaurant, but for all purpose drinking, it's Bacardi for me....I'm a cheap date Cowboy.....

Funny, one of our gay friends was over last night, along with a few other (non-gay) people. I think he was drinking Guinness actually.
Me, I had a few Bud Lights and then switched to wine. I rarely drink hard liquor and when I do, it's usually something like a shot of good rum or scotch or something like that straight up. When I'm in a tropical place I do like rum and cokes though. About the only mixed drink I ever consume is the occasional margarita (never from a mix), mojito, mint julep, or dirty martini. If it's too cold to drink beer when I'm golfing, I'll bring a flask of port. Hope everyone keeps this for future reference. |

For me Bud Lite (Light, whatever) is something I can drink that actually hydrates me a little bit and since it's pretty weak I can still hit a shot straight by the time I'm on the 18th. |

Heck no, it smells like sugar cane and tastes like it too. Great stuff. But it is 80-whatever proof, so of course it smells like alcohol too. Pyrat is great to have out by the hot tub on a cold night, along with a good cigar. Straight up on the rocks please.
