Anyone own a Ford Edge?
Looking to replace the madminivan soon and am just browsing. I am contemplating a Ford Edge or Explorer but may just stick with a minivan and pick up a chrysler.
Just wondering what peoples experiences were, it will be used and hopefully I will have the option of buying an extended warranty. opinions? Comments? Lude Remarks? Sexual Harrassments? |

Had one for a rental recently. Was comfortable on the highway and performance was good. Not sure of the drivetrain but was AWD. Not as embarrassing to drive as a minivan.

Nope. But I'm rockin' my '09 Pontiac Vibe GT. My HID headlight conversion kit arrives today. Can't wait to install it this evening. Last edited by onedef92; 02-26-2014 at 9:51am. |

I have heard good things about the Flex, especially with the ecoboost.

I have the Lincoln version of the Edge, the MKX. Mine is a 2011.
Nice little SUV, bigger than some of the competitor's crossover models. Mine has the 300HP V6. Great engine, gets about 19-20 MPG in all-around driving. I've had zero mechanical problems in 75,000 miles. While I like the Sync technology, Ford mucked it up. It's a lot better now, but still can be a PITA sometimes. I came to the MKX from a larger SUV and it took me a while to get used to the smaller wheelbase -- the MKX is twitchier and the ride isn't as smooth as larger SUV's. But then again, it doesn't require premium fuel nor burn it at 13 MPG. |

Nothing to add here except I like the looks of the Edge if I was in the market for such. And I agree with microsofts "sync". As an iPhone user it blows.

The Flex has a lower entry height, and more 2nd row leg room than the Edge.

I have a 2007 Edge. Bought it used, got around 140k on it now.
It's been ok. The air went out last season which has been the only major thing so far. |

I've had both the Edge and Flex for rentals, liked them both. If I was in the market for a 4-door crossover or smaller SUV-style vehicle, I'd buy either one of them and feel good about doing it.
Everything about both of those vehicles (except # of doors for me) is very well executed and just works really well. |

We had a 2011 Limited loaded to the max without that damn glass roof. The thing had more blind spots than a Panel Van. The Seats sucked especially the head rest that push your head forward

This chick at work has one and loves it.
It's cool looking and like 4 or 5 years old now. I'd get one of the ones that she has because the body style and rims are really nice. This is the best pic off Google I could find of it. |

My parents just got a 2014 Mazda CX-5 and REALLY like it. Now having said that and ridden in back, the rear doors are tight fit to get in... and I'm only 5'10" and 170 lbs.

I have three (07 Edge, 10 Edge and 13 MKX). I hesitate to say this because it'll probably happen tomorrow, but none have ever seen the shop (it's why I bought #1 and #2 when they came off lease).
Good cars. Would have gotten a thrid Edge instead of the MKX, but I wanted a heated steering wheel and by the time you optionedup an Edge, it was almost as expensive as the MKX (which had higher incentives, a higher residual and a lower money factor at the time). |
