Default Finally found an elusive 86 ZR1.

These dont pop up often, practically never to be honest..this is the earliest production ZR1...

90 ZR1's stickered for what...75-100K in some areas...some were higher.

i looked at a 93 ZR1 with the dealer sticker still on it, and it was like 97K....unreal.

But hey...it was the King!

Red, after looking at all the crap you consider buying, I didn't think a window sticker was important to you. Since it its, have I got a truck for you: '04 Silverado, has build sheet, window sticker, sales contract, Chevy Truck brochure from that year, owner's manual, tire warranty, etc. Pretty much everything but the protect-o-plate. Everything runs and drives out as is should, only thing not working is the driver's side seat heater. 116K (that's miles, for our gentle spoken neighbors in the Great White North)

Im not a fan of Post 98 models...the LSX engines dont seem to hold up.

I know...I know, yours has been great, i dont doubt it.

but if you go to the Chevy forums, the LS engines dont hold the cult following that the Gen 1 sbc did, or the Vortec 5700 did, BBC did, etc.

And thats not surprising at all.

but it seems like they:

Dont tolerate overheating, not even once.
Had camshaft/lifter issues
LAcked the low end torque the 350 had.
had oil consumption problems.

Seems like when people beat on em a little, they just lay down, generally between 150 and 200K miles.
