Default Since We're Discussing Photo Crap
Birds.

The first shot is a female hauling in nesting materials. She's currently incubating two eggs.

The second and third are the male leaving the nest and a fly-by. The light was *just* right. Ten minutes later the sun ducked behind the clouds and I went home.

Near the swamp here in NE Floriduh, I think we have every damn bird represented, from my favorite Bald Eagles on down the list past Vultures, on down to Pelicans, down to Cardinals, Oriels, to include some super mini birds too small to see easily......krazy but plenty of water, we on a hillside with plenty of Oak trees, Palms/Pines/Crepe Myrtle/etc.....set out front in the morning and watch the show as the sun comes up......

It really does. The first pic is a little cool SOOC. (It was blue-ish) I actually warmed this up a little in post. The other two were too warm SOOC and had a heavy orange cast to them.

As long as I'm shooting RAW I don't get too concerned about white balance. I've tried all the custom settings and to be honest didn't see much value in it shooting RAW. JPG sure but I don't shoot JPG too often if ever for birds.

Funny in that just this morning at about 715 or so, wife/me/neighbor buddy settin' out front of my garage, and conversation went to the BIRD life around here....our houses face west to sunlight comes on from SE region, and we watch the trees light up across the street, and the roofs melt/evaporate off/depending......but feeding the dawgs/catz/squirrels and even small birds is our hobby for about a hour or so....for me it's two cups and then hit the can.....
