Default C2 question

I am new to the C2 world and appreciate your help. I just bought a 63 Convert 4 speed car. 327/340. I noticed that it is missing the trans dip stick. The info on the trans is the following:

T10-7B (borg)
Vin plus WH81-2

Every time I research it, they say my car should have a M21 and I can't locate the correct dip stick.

Thank you for your help!

Didn’t know or thought manual X-missions in C2’s had a dip stick. Typically two bolts, one @base, one on top to fill

Welcome to the Barn and to the C2 family.

I've never seen any American made vintage 4-speed manual transmission that had a dipstick. Certainly I've never seen one on a T-10.

Can you post photos of the transmission and this mysterious tube? I can only guess that somebody added a vent to the case, or modified this transmission for use in some vehicle in which it might have previously been installed, and that prevented access to its drain and fill plugs.

The T-10 was installed in early '63 Corvettes. There were several hundred running changes in production during the model year, one of which was the switch to the Muncie transmission instead of the T-10. What is the VIN of your '63? Is there any chance that the WH81-2 that you reported is actually WH31-2?

Live well,

SJW

It sounds like the OP may have a later model transmission.

After a Google search in post #4 on this site
http://www.348-409.com/forum/threads...ication.13826/
It states the OPs trans number is the tailshaft # and for a 1961 model year car.
There is no mention of a dipstick.
Maybe his trans has a home made mod?
A picture wold be helpful.
