Florida highway covered in Coors Light beer after semi crash

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – A Florida highway had to temporarily close Wednesday after a semitrailer carrying cases of Coors Light crashed and turned the roadway into a silver sea of beer cans.

The multi-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 6 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 about 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of Tampa, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

The pileup began when one semitrailer clipped another while changing lanes, officials said. That forced other semis to brake, but one failed to stop and collided with a pickup truck and another one of the stopping semis.

The semi that failed to stop was filled with cases of the Silver Bullet beer.

Minor injuries were reported by the occupants of the pickup truck, the news release said.

The inside shoulder and travel lanes were opened to traffic by 8:30 a.m., and the rest of the roadway was reopened around noon, troopers said.

p.s. how funny, after I copy-pasted this into this forum, my spell check went crazy. I'm not fixing anything

I would be more upset if it were this, which has always been on my top three domestic bottled lager list--there is no non-domestic:

From my unchallengable verified vast experience, I would state Coors Light is EASILY the highest volume seller on any golf course, AND is #1 among Caribbean Island Folks.

While not a beer I would ever buy, Coors Light does very well.

This article states it was #2 in THE USA in 2020, same article shows top three are lights, with #5 being Ultra:

The success of most companies in most industries is not placing the greatest emphasis on quality, which has a strong correlation with price, which removes some, if not many, maybe even most, potential consumers.

Many, if not most, successful companies place their emphasis on value, value will usually, almost always, build a client base with huge, maybe huger, loyalty, which in the end accomplishes both profit and a brand loyalty.

Again, not sure if I have ever drank a Coors Light, but they are damn good at selling a beer that many buy, and in the end that is THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS!!

The same approach the Big 3 made until the Japanese kicked their ass and all the hard core American buyers switched.

I grew up in Colorado when Coors wasn’t available out of the state. People would get caught illegally “exporting” it for sale elsewhere. I don’t drink it, light or otherwise.

The demise of The Big Three would require a new sub-forum and doubling of this site's bandwidth, as more stupid with those guys than the volume of the Pacific.

While many would say external factors were the most impactful factors, we all know their failure to lower labor and legacy costs were key, AS WAS PISS POOR MANAGEMENT.

Selling beers and burgers is not as complex,,,

Either is making a good quality automobile

The problem with the Big 3 is they didn't listen to the consumers on what they wanted, very arrogant plus you had the lazy ass union workers. The Japanese car makers listen to the consumers and what they wanted I worked for Chevrolet in the 80's and saw the POS automobiles they made same with Ford and Chrysler. The 70's were a bigger disaster. The automobile Corporations isn't that complex at all. Americans got use to the shit they made for decades until someone else came up with a better product. Cars you didn't have to work on constantly and ran forever. I grew up in the 50's and saw everyone with their hoods up on Saturday working on their new and used American cars. Never saw it in the 80's on up with Japanese cars.

Make a better product cheaper or the same price and the people will wake up and say I don't need to buy American if they can't compete. The American manufactures woke up and started to make a better product to compete with the Japanese or they would have become extinct Not complex at all.

What's ironic is, GM tried to fix things back in the '80s by partnering with Toyota at the Fremont plant. They were building the Nova, which was a rebadged Corolla I think. Workers went to Japan to learn a new way of doing things. It was a huge success, but NONE of the other GM plants would adopt it. They were too entrenched in the old way of doing things. It took until GM declared bankruptcy in 2009 for things to change.
