I read the Beltronics STi and Escort 9500ci are the only radar detectors that cannot be detected (Spectre) and the Escort 9500ci had a better 'alert' range compared to the Valentine 1.

I will post a side note to that. LIDAR is becoming the new method for speed detection due to the ability to single out vehicles and fellas i am sorry no amount of aluminum chaffing and reflective plates or detectors can stop that. Single laser at your vehicle. Judges love it.

No.... haven't had to deal with one in over 5 years. The one I used was very expensive, but got my reckless reduced to improper driving.

What pizzes me off the most, is the same cops that write you a ticket will blow by you at 90+, talking on the phone, clicking on their car computer, etc. and not even think about it. Even in their civilian cars, they fly down the road. Judges too. Hypocritical bastages! I can outdrive 99% of any trooper on the road(in a car built for speed, and MUCH better maintained), but I'M the unsafe one becasue I'm going over the speed limit. A couple years ago, I proved this to a trooper friend of mine who just got finished with a driving course, and thought he was Mario Andretti. We took his cruiser and my vette out some back roads around here. I let him lead, passed him in less than a mile, and the last time I saw him, he was spinning around backwards on a switchback.

If your talking non military grade then yes they don't work. I have tested them all before they were bought and put into service.

Yes there are some cops out there that are Hippocrates. But what you don't realize is that there are sometimes when silent run is the best approach and there are other factors that you don't know to the reason why we r doing what we r doing. The phone at 90 I don't get that either that guy is an idiot. All I ask is don't judge us all by the actions of a few pricks. Simple question is that if you were bleeding on the side of the road wouldn't you want us to break the speed limit to put our finger in your hole to keep you from bleeding out? And wouldn't you want me to chase the a@@ down that put it in there? I dont write tickets for stuff i do......soooo i really don't write any tickets lmao. the side note is yes you may be able to out drive any state trooper on the road but we r trained not to out drive our cars and make mistakes. But i don't care if you have a 1200 hp vette and you are a stand in for the nascar circuit you will not out run Motorola and the helicopter. But i would sure love someone to try I haven't had a good chase in awhile.

I don't know about a chopper....haven't been there

But....

The radio isn't actually that hard to outrun
Since the statute of limitations is up......by many , many years.....
In my youth I outran over a 100 singles and over 50 multiple car chases
Outran 5 in one chase ( personal record )

NEVER GOT CAUGHT

I'd never do it now since I grew up and stuff

I feel better after confessing ; )

Don't get me wrong Lutz, I've been on the other side of the coin. I did my time as a military police, a protective service officer, a civilian cop(hated it, too many restrictions), and 18 years as a corrections officer. I know all about what you guys go through. Good LEO's get the respect they deserve from me.

I'm talking about the azzhat hippocrates out there. We all have seen them, and know a lot of them. Yes, there are times when silent running is the ebst approach. But, not when you are just running to see who buys lunch.(Yes, it's done all the time. Done it myself

) Also, if they're running to an emergency, that is a whole different subject.
And we all know you can't outrun the radio. Dammit!

And I am in no way saying that running from the police should ever be done. It's a recipe for disaster. I've had a good friend (LEO) injured severly from a crash while in pursuit of some punk kid who didn't want another ticket on his record. Thankfully, he made a full recovery.

I haven't got the foggiest idea what you are talking about but I have a quad setup on my car and the cops couldn't touch me with a laser if their jobs depended on it. Here I am testing my setup with an ultralyte 200 LR. They still use the antique 100's here. Notice the JTG & JFG. They can't touch me, I've had so many saves I couldn't count 'em all.

That's awesome! But here they would still pull you over and probably impound the car for suspicion of having a constitutionally legal device.

They are legal here, some states outlaw them, the officer would have to have another reason to stop me and it had better be a good one. Officers who violate individuals 4th amendment rights get into serious trouble.
