Seems like one week after receiving my Tornado 3000 table... COVID hit big time. Didn't even try to get any people over to play. But finally... looks like things are easing up a bit.

Actually it does not really change much. You still block using the center man; the outer two seem to be used to just get the ball out of the corner.

There's an international foosball tournament in September... in Lexington, Ky. I've talked with the head organizer; over 700 players signed-up so far; all the hotels in the area are sold out. The location is about 2 hours drive from my place. I plan on going; though probably as a spectator only.

here's a pic of my table; it fit into the room nicely.

I played for a few years. Was good at it but met a couple guys better than me. Three goalie doesn't sound like something I'd care for. What would make a good change is something to catch the ball when you sink it so hard and clean that it jumps back out onto the table. That's a ripoff.

I played a lot in college. We had a table at my fraternity, and I was one of the better players in the house. There was another fraternity that was way into it, and we would go to each other's house occasionally and play, generally they would mop the floor with us.

the rules have been greatly finalized over the past decade or two. There is no spinning, you can't let go of a rotating handle.

Also, in competition, you don't use the serving holes to start play; and that's because you can't shoot or pass the ball from the 5 man rod unless the ball touches two foosmen first. It sounds weird... but it really isn't.

Obviously in a bar or bowling alley environment... these competition rules aren't strictly adhered to.

Here is Chase Pennell; extremely fast player, going over a few of the competition rules (ZipZap wll appreciate one part of this):

again, at your local pub you're not likely to see the ball served in that fashion.

this next video you may get bored watching all the way through, but the first few seconds shows his practice routine:

the newer tables try to reduce that happening. The rules now state if the ball goes in, it counts as a goal even if the ball comes back out.
