Default Still much better than supermarkets but....

Not sure if it's my imagination but does anyone else think the Costco rotisserie chickens are smaller these days ?

Dunno...don't shop at Costco, or any of the others in that market space. Parking at these places is a cluster ****, that I don't wish to participate in.

The latest conspiracy I heard is that the feed for chicken has changed. Making them smaller and laying less eggs.

Conspiracies are just facts that are a few months early. Remember when it was a conspiracy that the clot shots didn't stop infection or transmission?

let's not forget that Costco rotisserie chicken is injected with juices first - before the rotisserie cooking process.

All of them are smaller. Here the ones I’ve seen include:
- BJ Warehouse
- Sam’s Club
- Harris Teeter
- Food Lion

Some are no bigger than a partridge

What's weird is that about a year and a half ago, chicken breasts were $2.99 per pound in my regular supermarket, and eggs were $1.29 per dozen. Now, breasts are $1.99 per pound, but eggs are $5.79 dozen.

Does this mean that the breasts they are selling are from hens who died of the Avian flu?

You got it.

The spread of bird flu should have no effect on people's consumption of chicken or other poultry. Thorough cooking kills the flu virus, along with any bacteria present. But, do follow standard preparation procedures when handling raw chicken.

Not a conspiracy. As a chicken owner, I am plugged in to the various chicken forums. Tractor Supply has been selling Chinese-made chicken feed that is stopping the hens from laying. The word on the street is to avoid Tractor Supply for your feed and particularly the DuMOR brand.

China has a long history of producing poisonous foods, including dog food and human baby formula. I never buy food products from China.

Chickens will eat darn near anything. Found a drowned mouse in their water bowl one morning. Tossed it over my shoulder and there was a flurry of feathers as they all went for it. One grabbed it and ran off into a corner and started ripping it apart and eating it.

They're like velociraptors, only tasty when fried.

I always enjoyed a rousing game of chicken football when a mouse is discovered.
