Default I'm In A .22 Pistol Mood

I have several 22LR rifles, a Henry, Marlin, Kel Tec AR styles, even an old Western Auto my dad gave me.

Have this new range near me that's state of the art, myself and a couple other fellows got a membership there, just enjoy hanging out there.

I have no .22 cal handguns, just want one for fun shooting (plinking) but not for home or self defense, have plenty of those.

This is what I've been reading up on, all good, decisions, decisions.......

Kel Tec CP33
Ruger Mark IV
Glock 44
Kel Tec PMR30
Taurus TX22

There are plenty more out there, anyone recommend their favorite?

Thanks.

a baller would get a fine Colt Woodsman Match Target, 1st series. just over 16,000 ever made, available on gun broker for 2-4k each.

or a more modern thing would be a SW model 41, with 5.5" barrel. same weight as a 1911.

Check out Heritage Arms. They have a nice line of .22 Revolvers mostly in western “six shooter” style.

This is true, but for the price-point, very hard to beat the Ruger.

I bought my son the Ruger for his tenth birthday. He's now 30. Bull barrel, stainless. Very accurate. Other than the Pita to reassemble, it's a nice pistol.

Semi Auto I would suggest either Browning Buckmark or Ruger

While not the most perfect finish on them, the trigger is fantastic and mine shoots great.

VERY affordable too. $150 plus get an extra cylinder for $30 direct from Heritage Arms.

I am a fan of the Ruger Super Single Six. It’s a single action revolver not a pistol but you get two cylinders so you can shoot both regular .22 and also .22WMG
Fun to shoot

Jeez, not a baller and certainly not anything remotely related to match shooting, just some fun, but thanks for the info.

if you got really lucky a few years ago, you would have picked up a 4 digit 1917 vintage pre-woodsman for under 350, and discover it still holds the 10 ring at 25 yards off a rest.

For plinking, I have a S&W Model 622. The Model 22A is as close as you can get right now. I like the slab sides, but you can get all kinds of custom grips. The Model 22 comes in many variants, included those that look like Lugers, to M&P, to high end target versions.

There's a Beretta .22 Bobcat in my left front pocket most days. She's a loud little fugger!

They also make it in a .22

The SW 422/622/2206 was an interesting idea. Have an old 422. Same mags as a 41.

The SW victory is their current offering. 22A was retired.
