Ford made a fortune placing different stickers on Mustangs and calling them something different or marketing them as 'special'.

Years ago, I had a set of Winters '074' heads that I eventually sold for serious $$. Who knows where they ended up.

One thing is for certain, the buyer better have done their research on this auction.

How did you come by those?

I had a set of square port early BB blocks. Sold them for about $1600 on ebay yrs., ago.

I still have the Winters intake for them. Super rare! All kinds of hoopla on the internet about it - Smokey Yunick designed or made for him, etc...No one really knows the truth. Has a part # and Sept. 65 casting date. One guy stayed after me for years to sell to him. I turned down $2500 for it. Some say it's early L-88 piece. I do know the '66 Penske L88 Corvette at that famous resto shop in NY has the same intake on it. Jerry McNees? I can't remember how to spell his name. The well-known drag racer, Chev. numbers man, etc...told me they had to 'put together' that intake for the Penske L88. It was in pieces.

The heads/intake was on a Chevelle I bought back in the '70s. Someone told me the previous owner had put his brothers Corvette motor in it or parts of it. I rebuilt the engine and sold the car without those heads or intake. I didn't know enough then to check the block, etc...to see what it actually was and it was before all this muscle car collecting, B-J, Mecum, stuff of today.

The intake is still out in my garage.

Does he still have it? I may have to head over there again and do a feature on him.

I picked up them up from local guy when I lived in FL. Needed some welding work, but got them to the point where they pressure tested OK. Not a date code correct pair for a ZL-1, but they might have been for a '71 LS-6 if someone were looking to clone one.

Lots of neat, unique vintage stuff kicking around out there, and some of it, like that intake you have, would no doubt bring some serious coin to the right buyer. Post up a photo if you get the chance.

In Feb '92 I had my Lemans Sport convertible published in Hi Perf. Pontiac.....because I managed to put DPFI on it, basically in my own shop, by myself.....only thing I had done outside was the welding on the intake manifold that I still have all together.....

and I also had my '72 vette published once for the same reason.....L98 injection added, years ago.....Corvette Fever as I recall.....

and an independent article written about another unique effort.....

Hmmmm, let me think about this. Many people swear there were only two made, but some people swear there were three. None of the three were red from what I read. The sales info admits that this is an NOM car. Hmmmmmm, if I had $3 million to spend on a car, is THIS the one I would want?

Uhhhhhhhh, no.

Interesting. Dual plane type design but without a plenum divider. Reportedly Yunick had a hand in the development on these.

Nice piece. Thanks for posting it.

Why hasn't everybody started talking about Teslas by this point in the thread? Isn't that how it's supposed to work? Every car/ truck thread out there has to end up praising Telsas for their owners Pride or something?
