I'd take a GT Performance for free, but I would never buy one (and I qualify for employee pricing from Ford).
The reason non-Tesla EVs are stacking up on stealership lots is because these vehicles simply do not compel. Even after deep price cuts the comparable Tesla has these vehicles beat hollow. |

When the F150 lightenings first came out and were a lot cheaper my neighbor bought one ... for (get this) to STORE solar energy from his solar system. He apparently got something rigged where the F150 battery system stores power from his solar system during the day and feeds it back to the house at night. He is in AZ so it covers all his AC power consumption. Apparently he could do this for about the cost of a couple of tesla powerwalls.

Forget the Ford EV truck.
I missed out just today on buying this even though its just an old school ICE engine vehicle. Its the one on the left. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ign=2024-02-26 Not sure if a million and half would have bought it? |

I heard a rumor that Apple was killing their electric car project.

The price of ALL new trucks is ridiculous. Makes me happy that MY truck is a nice 1972 El Camino that at my age I plan to die with. If necessary I can work on it without having to go to computer school. I am planning on adding power windows and cruise control to it and then it will be done and with all the creature comforts I require. Every penny I put into it will be recaptured as an APPRECIATING asset rather than a $90k truck that 5 years or less will be worth 1/2 or less that what is paid for it new.

So if they are so popular one would think the price would go up.

Actually it was classed as a truck by Chevrolet and I use it as one.

I have always used my old vehicles as they were intended. A few years back when I had a really nice 1966 Charger I had the rear bucket seats folded down and the fold down panel between the trunk and back seat and had a couple of sheets of plywood in it. I definitely got some looks at Home Depot.
