Default Antique Advertising Print I purchased Recently...

I just had this framed...

Neighbor of ours was an antique dealer by trade, she recently went into assisted living and had an Estate Sale, where there were TONS of interesting items for sale...mostly grossly overpriced. Tremendous amount of original artwork and furniture.

This really caught my eye, as I have seen them in reproductions, but this is an original, circa 1910. It was unframed, they were asking $800.00. I got the neighbor discount and paid significantly less, $300.00.

It wasn't cheap to frame, but regardless, I liked it and think it is unique. It's is HUGE. Pics don't do it justice with the size, it's about 5 feet x 3 1/2 feet. It has some damage, but it's over 100 years old.

That is a STEAL!! Love the vintage marketing prints.
I've seen the pricing on some of the turn of the century pieces that were just prints. The originals often bring multiples more.
Killer score Scott!

Please let me know if she has any others at a reasonable price point.
I'd be very interested.
Scott

It was the only one I saw, but I'll keep my eyes out. I hit up estate sales around my neighborhood fairly frequently. Yeah man, I did good on this. Just quick internet searches show these going for around 2k without frame, I've got about $700 in it total, but I'm not thinking profit. It's going to look great in my house.

I can't remember the correct terminology but did you have the backing done in a "archive" backing to prevent reactions?

The ad looks fantastic

He's actually a Bovier de Flandres/Poodle Mix.

The artist was Bouchet. And it's definitely for real, up close and personal, you can tell it's OLD.

I really like that! Great score!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that goes the distance with quality framing.

That actually looks familiar, I think I've seen a copy in a restaurant near me.
