Nice to see him back behind the mic and doing some writing.

Not bad for an old man that's endured hip surgery as well as all the vocal challenges.

Some great interviews out there about why he ducked out of the music scene 25 years ago.

A neighbor friend who is a classical guitarist and teaches music at Austin Pea College just happened to be in the Gibson guitar factory when Neil Schon was there.
THey jammed on Gibson's time.
He said Schon was an amazing guitarist. Coming from an old Metallica hard core fan, that says a lot.

That particular Gibby has a stock Kahler locking vibrato on it. A Whammy bar if you will, with screws that locked the strings down at the bridge..
That is a rare find.
I had an '83, with that, and have since sold it for double what I bought it for.The sustain on that thing was just amazing. She was a growler too. She rocked.

[PDF][/PDF]Journey was Kryptonite for me and their songs are "finger breakers" for me, that is, I'll risk a broken finger to quickly change the station when I hear them on the radio. That said, I recognize Perry had the rock and roll voice of the late 70s and early 80s and I'm glad for him he's making a comeback. I'll not be listening and still risking broken fingers but recognize his talent Glad he's overcome his issues.
