I wouldn't have guessed that fast.

Props for figuring out that pedaling in a "vacuum" ( or dead air space ) makes that mind boggling speed possible.

Yeah, since the article said nothing about being sucked along by a vacuum cleaner. More like the vacuum created by drafting a vehicle in front of you. Like just about every car in a NASCAR race.

but in Nascar, they want to go first, that bike can NOT do that speed without that special car/setup in front.....so it's just bullshit....of course.....

It's not bullshit, it's just a different kind of record. Lots of Bonneville cars have to be push started at a relatively high speed because of their gearing. Early NHRA dragsters were all push started. Even today they need external equipment to start their engines. Nobody is claiming this is a bicycle you can roll out of your garage and go for a ride on.

On a side note, no way I'd being moving that fast on two wheels motor or not. My best was 165 in my Z on the 505 (Mr Pea knows this stretch) and that was enough for me, I wanted more and it was pulling hard but my mind was fighting me "this could go really bad, really fast"
