Another "it followed me home" thread
Just got back from Wisconsin and the ride home was a bit slower with MUCH worse gas mileage.

Very nice Scott
I do see two things that are missing. Where are the spare tires for the trailer? I highly suggest two since it's a heavy boat and a dual axle trailer. 6 years old and 99 hours. You probably made out very well on price since it's "used" and late in the season. Jeff |

Will be interesting as this one is a closed water cooling set-up.
Nice to keep all the corrosives away from the manifold and headers but it can still booger up the internals on the cooling system. I'm still reading up on them so I can understand a bit better. I had the dealer replace the impeller for me as standard precaution. Formula put some nice work into their boats. The vinyl is better quality with very nice piping/accents than many other boats, the solid glas hull, dash and gauges etc. Fit and finish is excellent. Scott Nice size little head w/potty

Made out very well since it was the off season and made a cash offer. I also spent almost 2 weeks going back and forth between the sea trial and firing loads of questions at the dealer during negotiations. I got lucky as this was a part time toy by a guy with a few bucks that didn't need to pull every last penny out of the deal. They have dry stacked this boat since day 1 for this guy and have all the service records; which is almost zero. Scott

Would be nice to have a teak floor in the head.
Although as stunning as teak is on boats, it is a TON of work to maintain. Spent many hours as a kid with steel wool and chemicals... Scott

[nit-pic]
Don't know if the dealer is using 'Vacu-Flush' head as a generic term, but that head looks like a Jabsco unit, not a Vacu-Flush. The latter typically has a single foot-operated flush lever, not the side-mounted controls in your pic. Jabsco Marine Toilet - Manually Operated (manual) | eBay [/nit-pic] That being said, the head compartment on your boat is VERY cool -- it easily passes the wife test. |

Nice rig! Formula builds a very nice boat and that 496 is an animal. I helped bring a friends Formula 320 up from Stamford CT to Warwick RI. it has twin 496's and absolutely flies.
As fast as the Chaparral is, that thing will crush it. What are you doing with the Chap? |
