When I was in HS, one of my best friends had a brand new -'84, one of the first 4+3's. We were easily doing 120+ heading out of town when we passed a parked county sheriff. He didn't even pull out to chase us.

I got a 45 in a 40 with exhibition of speed, meaning it was 2 points and a misdermeanor. Staged Event to draw publicity and attract the Younger Street Racing Crowd's attention to the C8 by GM and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with GM and Local Police.

The average age of the Corvette Consumer and Museum is like Old and soon to be extinct.

This was staged event ( i.e. Fake News ) story designed to get younger consumers attention to the C8 and increase attendance at the Corvette Museum while the Northern College Kids head down I-65 on their Spring Break Road Trips in the Priuses and Sonics.

A few well placed Pics on FB / Twitter / Instagram is also prudent AD dollars wisely spent in hopes to draw consumers under 50 years old the Corvette Marketplace.
