Is this due to the hurry cane or some kind of liberal mismanagement?

It's liberating when mother nature takes away your power, and you can drag out the generator and give her a big middle finger. Of course, a power outage of several weeks kind of sucks. Hope you get your power back quick, OP!

Dominion mismanagement...….going to cook breakfast on the grill.
Power maybe tomorrow between 6-11pm
When the number out is low per area, they should go by 1st called in....they are not !@#$%&()+
Feel bad for my elderly neighbors, but his generator is working and he needs nothing right now...……...his son-in-law works for Dominion! They have made calls but it don't matter
Oh well, more debris clean up and gun cleaning

There is an organized way to restore power. 1.All hospitals and EMS facilities. 2. Large scale customers and large populated blocks. 3. Everyone else.

You want to make sure of reliability ? See how far the closest hospital is and see if you are on the same feeder.

Also, municipal water and sewer plants get priority. Police and fire is great, but if the toilets don't flush.......

Once the must haves get back on line, you focus on getting the biggest bang for your buck, in other words, what can we do to get the most people back on line first? If a transmission line is down, causing outages for hundreds or thousands, you fix that, then work on restoring smaller blocks of users, and finally, you work on fixing individual drops, where it's one home or business without power.

Our electricity goes out during blizzards when trees fall on lines.
It can be anywhere from 34° to -7°.
At those temps, the house cools down really quickly.
Ya, we can throw everything in the refrigerator outside to preserve it, but why bother when you have a Genny ?
I have a boiler and a forced air furnace for two different zones in the ranch,
No TV ? My wife gets really mean.... No internet ? I get really mean.
Generators and a pile of gasoline = survival .

Excellent news, hopefully the others get power back soon too. We’ve gone as long as 5 days without power and listening to the generator for that long gets really old too!

During Irma last year we lost the freezer and fridge in the 4 day blackout, but FEMA paid for the food losses....Several years ago lightening storm too out a neighbors' tree, which took out the pole transformer, and so we ran my house refrige's and a few lights/tv over the air.....computer for about a week...off my neighbor's house on another pole trans.....even ran yet another extension pole to the guy on the other side of me....for his fish tank full of expensive tropical fish....watt a mess that was.....
