I used to have a thin sheet of insulation that I would lay on when it got cold. Surprisingly enough, the price was right (free), but its durability was not the greatest.
I keep some cardboard from big stuff that has waxy side or plastic pictures on it, keeps the moisture off the back.

After living with floor jacks for decades and finally getting a lift I don't think i could go back to not having one.
Swapped AC compressor on Buick last week, worth 20 bucks to not lay on back just for that. So I add up every oil change /repair at what I would pay extra for a lift, it adds up quickly. I figure I've recouped my cost from lift now or will be soon.
A 8ft ceiling does limit your options but still possible.

Yeah, I have some of that too. If there was some reason why I really felt I NEEDED the car ready to go tomorrow, I'm sure I would do something like that. But our weather forecast has generally sucked, so I'm in no hurry.

Not that it matters much. To get under my Corvette on a creeper, I would have to jack it up really high. I have the equipment to do it, but it's a lot of work. Laying on the floor, I only need to jack one side up about 3", and I can get under enough to do an oil change.
You must be one thin mofo front to back to fit under a Vette!

I am definitely not a "thin mofo". But my arms are long enough, that if I jack up one corner a few inches, and stuff a short jack stand under the frame rail (read, 5 mins of work), I can wriggle my shoulder and some of my chest far enough under the car to reach the drain plug.

To put my fat ass on a creeper, and roll all the way under would require 4 tall jack stands, and lifting the car a foot and a half or so. Not happening for an oil change.

Pampas grass is a PITA. What a miserable, razor blade like edge POS plant!

Besides hooking up a tow rope/chain and yanking these MFers out, any suggestions?

And although lighting them on fire sounds fantastic, some dumb ass planted them right next to my mothers town home here.

Worked for 2 hours today just to cut them down to manageable height and thought I would dig them out.. yea, that is a solid NO!

Some people plant that stuff on purpose because they like the look. I suggest you just roll with it.

If you dig them up send them to me.. I need some for by the road.
They should never be planted by a building, had them out in back yard before. When they would bloom my female husky would shred them down to the ground, must have pissed her off or something. She never got a cut from them either.
Oh BTW fire won't kill them they like it, neighbor down road set his on fire and burnt half his house down. Plants came back fine.
They are difficult to remove, chop them up with an ax and a pick and dig out.

I love them, think they are beautiful, but some dumb ass planted one right under my Mom's front eave and its is HUGE and grows over her front sidewalk, as you know, cuts her. It need to be moved but is about the size of a bathtub..... hoping I can yank it out with the truck.
