Default Cordless drill?

I need a cordless drill/ driver for occaisional light use. So, it doesn’t need to be heavy duty or built for professional use.
What would you guys reccommend that’s inexpensive but not total crap.

Does not matter the battery will be the first thing to go. And to replace it your better off buying another.

I have Ryobi ONE+ 18v tools. Love them! All take the same batteries and there's tons of different tools to choose, everything from leaf blower to cut off wheel to air compressor. Just don't buy aftermarket batteries

I have a Milwaukee drill and 3/8 impact. That's what I take to the salvage yard for getting parts. They work well.

Have Snap-On but if I was going to do it over again it will be Milwaukee.
Another vote for Rigid for home use and their battery warranty.

Makita 18V. It is compact and powerful enough for any lightwork scenario you describe. Came with two batteries.
I could not kill my 14 year old 12V Makita with hundreds of hours of productivity on it and still going strong - so, I demoted it in favor of the smaller and extremely capable compact 18V model.

Nikon/Canon

I've always used Makita cordless tools. Very happy with my 18V Makita Drill/Impact that I currently own.

Dewalt, Makita, Milwauakee you really can't go wrong.

With that said...

I own Dewalt and Milwaukee corded tools and they are both FANTASTIC.

I have had good luck with Lowes brand Kobalt. You can get battery replacements realtively cheap.

I got a nice 1/2" DeWalt drill which also came with an extra battery and an impact driver, from Lowes, for like $150 and it's a very nice drill and the battery lasts quite a long time. Came with a bit/driver set and a carry bag too. I've never used the impact driver so don't know how good it works, I assume it's fine for light-duty type stuff.

That sounds like the same one I have. That thing cut a 6" hole through the hardy plank on the side of my house like nothing.
